Borussia Dortmund won’t be letting Erling Haaland go for less than €200m (£172m) this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all held talks with the Norwegian’s agent, Mino Raiola, in recent months but Dortmund are expected to refuse all bids for the striker unless a team can match their extremely high price tag.
It is clearly designed to scare off potential buyers and supporters on Twitter have pretty much written off City’s chances of getting Haaland:
For that money you could have Kane and grealish and still have a few million to spare

With Haaland’s €75m (£64m) release clause coming into effect next year, it seems Dortmund are willing to sacrifice £50m to £100m in order to get another year out of the 20-year-old.
That is a very bold decision and one which won’t please City. With a replacement for Sergio Aguero desperately needed, it means a move for Tottenham’s Harry Kane is looking ever more likely.
