Manchester City are weighing up a potential move for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, according to reports in England.
The Frenchman is a player in demand, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United having all been heavily linked with him in recent months.
Tchouameni is believed to be an option if Fernandinho does leave the Etihad at the end of the season and most supporters on Twitter believe the 22-year-old has the ability to replace the club captain:
Good thing City are looking for Fernandinho’s replacement, he has definitely lost a yard of pace this season.

Very good player, very commanding presence in midfield too. But he’s not very comfortable on the ball. However, under Pep he can definitely improve a lot.

Id absolutely love Tchouameni but let's be real there's no chance he accepts a rotational role

Securing Tchouameni’s services won’t be straightforward. In addition to the competition for his signature, Monaco are expected to demand a sizeable sum for the France international.
Reports have suggested that the asking price could go as high as €80m (£67m) and, while the figure could end up being slightly lower, he will be a costly purchase. With City focusing their efforts on bringing in Erling Haaland, they may not have the resources to go after Tchouameni too.
