Guardiola addresses Neymar rumours

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted he does not see himself working with Neymar anytime soon.

The Brazilian superstar has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG after just one season in France, and Manchester City are among those touted to move for the forward.

Last month Neymar spoke out about his desire to play under Pep Guardiola, telling ESPN Brazil:

“I’ve always wanted to work with Guardiola,

“He’s different. I arrived in Barcelona a year after he left. I really want to work with him.

However, despite Neymar’s desire to work with the Spaniard, Guardiola has been quick to downplay any potential linkup – saying he won’t manage PSG and Neymar won’t be transferring to City.

“I’m not going to go to Paris Saint-Germain and he will not go to Manchester,” Guardiola said, speaking from a golf tournament in Catalonia.

“[Will Neymar go] to Madrid? I’ve seen [the rumours] but I don’t know, I don’t know. What I know is that leaving Paris is not easy.

“Leaving Paris is not easy because PSG are PSG. But in football we know that anything is possible.”

So it seems Neymar won’t be coming to the Etihad, at least not anytime soon!
