Manchester City will open talks about extending manager Pep Guardiola‘s contract at the Etihad Stadium, according to reports in the UK.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of next season and it appears the Citizens are now actively seeking to extend his stay at the club.
Guardiola is the most successful manager in City’s history, having won eight trophies during his four years in England, and fans on Twitter are hoping that he commits his long-term future:

Nah he wouldn’t. He’d have done the same thing with the Premier League, “we’ve won it once, let’s shut everyone up and do it again…”

Considering how many titles Guardiola has already won in his time with City, he could well consider leaving at the end of his five-year contract.
However, the Spaniard has consistently talked about his determination to win the Champions League, and after falling at the quarter-final stages once again this year, he will almost certainly want to stick around for longer in order to achieve his aim, unless they secure the European trophy next campaign.
