Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland could price himself out of a move to Manchester City and other interested clubs with his huge wage demands, according to reports.
The Norwegian international is currently asking for a staggering €35m a season (approximately £584k a week), which is well beyond the means of most teams.
With the finances of the Haaland deal seemingly a huge obstacle, supporters on Twitter have called on the 20-year-old to lower his salary expectations or get another agent:
This kid is insane. If he wants to play ball, he’ll forget these demands and come to City

When he looks at the scenario and finds out that either everyone gets less money in this transfer or he doesn’t get any UCL football in the 21/22 season, things may change a bit. If he’s only in it for the money, though, good riddance. Players like this always become trouble

This insane if found to be true I don’t think city should pay him more than kdb. No way that is acceptable as of now

He may end up ruining his career if he continues with agent Riola

Terrible career management for the kid. He should fire whoever is in charge of the decisions.

It doesnt make sense to me, why kill your chance of a career before it even starts with Ronaldo level wage demands

If he wants to play for money let PSG have him, we’re not going to ruin our wage structure because of an 20 year old.

Too much. Certainly wouldn’t be our best player to deserve that much. Next.

He needs a new agent ASAP. Riola is preventing him from joining the club he loves

It’s hard to know whether these figures are genuine or not, but one thing we know for certain is that Mino Raiola will make sure that both he and the player are suitably rewarded monetarily.
If City don’t want to deal with the Dutchman, they may be better off looking elsewhere to strengthen their forward line. The likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku are believed to be potential alternative options.
