Journalist Names The Haaland And Kane Alternative That City Have “Seriously Looked At” Signing

Manchester City will likely consider another move for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix if attempts to sign Erling Haaland and Harry Kane don’t work out, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Portuguese international has been regularly linked with a transfer to the Etihad over the past few years and Jones suggest that the player remains firmly on the Premier League champions’ radar:

“Manchester City have seriously looked at Joao Felix for some time, and if their main plans- Kane and Haaland – don’t work out, it would not surprise me at all to see them try to sign the Atletico Madrid star instead. People close to the situation have left me in no doubt about how much he is admired within City.”

Felix is said to be unsettled in Spain, with reports back in December and January mentioning Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United as potential destinations.

City haven’t been considered as a serious contender for a while, mainly due to their interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. It has recently been claimed that the Norwegian has narrowed down his next club to either the Citizens or Real Madrid, with a decision expected next month.

If he opts against a switch to Manchester, there appears to be a strong possibility that City will turn their attentions back to Felix.
