Jurgen Klopp Makes City And Arsenal Claim As He Assesses The Two Title Contenders

Klopp and Salah

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he has been impressed by the standard of football that both Manchester City and Arsenal have played so far this season.

The Gunners are currently five points clear at the top of the table and, while he acknowledged that City are still playing well, the German admits he has been taken aback by the performances of Mikel Arteta’s side:

“Arsenal, my God, they are flying and having results and playing really good football. I respect that a lot. Man City is Man City, playing good football and are there as well.”

After City won at the Emirates last month, some believed that Arsenal’s title challenge may begin to unravel but they appear to be made of sterner stuff. Wins against Aston Villa, Leicester and Everton have got their campaign back on track.

It means that City have their work cut out to get back in contention. Of course, there is enough experience in the squad to know that the Premier League title won’t be handed to them on a plate so putting a run of results together is vital in order to put pressure on the current leaders.
