Ligue One Side Slap £70m Price Tag On Manchester City Target

Lyon will not let midfielder Tanguy Ndombele leave for less than £70million, according to reports.

Manchester City are said to be keen on signing the Frenchman, with Wolves’ Ruben Neves and Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong being lined up as potential alternatives.

However, if the Citizens want to sign Ndombele, it appears they will have to break the club’s transfer record to do so.

City spent £60million on Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City in the summer, and Lyon are looking to hold out for a lot more than that.

Considering Ndombele only signed from Amiens for €10m on a permanent deal in the summer, it does seem to be an excessive amount, but the Ligue One side’s president Jean-Michel Aulas is a notoriously tough negotiator.

The France Under 21 international is clearly highly rated by his club, and the midfielder has certainly started the season in good form with four assists in his first eleven games.
