Manchester City defender John Stones injured his thigh muscle during the early stages of the second-leg defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League playoff round last month.
There were suggestions that the centre-back would need to undergo surgery but manager Pep Guardiola said before the win over Tottenham that an operation is not required, with a comeback date set for the beginning of May:
“He can be recovered during eight to 10 weeks without surgery. We need everyone for the end of the season. Absolutely everyone.”
“I decide for this line-up, maybe tomorrow will be another one, we need everyone.”
