Nathan Ake sustained a thigh injury whilst playing for the Netherlands during the last international break.
The defender was forced off just before half-time during the 2-2 draw against Germany in the Nations League.
It is believed that Ake will miss all four of City’s remaining games before the next batch of international fixtures in early October.
That means the 29-year-old is set to return to action when club football resumes midway through next month.
