Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol is back in training ahead of the match against Tottenham this weekend.
Manager Pep Guardiola said that the Croatian international was “not ready” to face Wolves.
Gvardiol was also not in the squad for the pre-season friendly versus Palermo. It means he may only be fit for the substitutes’ bench on Saturday.
Expected Return Date – Spurs (h) – Saturday 23rd August
Ederson
The 32-year-old missed the trip to Molineux with a stomach bug, but there is an expectation that he will be back in training ahead of City’s next fixture.
With speculation linking Ederson with a move to Galatasaray, though, it remains to be seen if he will be in contention.
Expected Return Date – Spurs (h) – Saturday 23rd August
Phil Foden
Guardiola hinted that the attacking midfielder was close to making the matchday squad for the Wolves game.
Foden has an ankle problem, which meant that he missed the opening Premier League fixture, as well as the Palermo friendly. Even so, it is not believed to be a major injury.
Expected Return Date – Spurs (h) – Saturday 23rd August
Rodri
The midfielder sustained a groin injury during the Club World Cup round of 16 defeat to Al-Hilal.
Guardiola says Rodri will be involved in team training “soon” but he is not expected to play this side of the international break.
Expected Return Date – September
