Phil Foden

The attacking midfielder was not in the squad for the Brighton loss due to an ankle problem.

Foden was not named in the England squad, suggesting that he won’t be back fit in the next couple of weeks.

He remains a doubt ahead of the Manchester derby later this month.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Rayan Cherki

Before the game against Brighton, it was confirmed that the France international has sustained a significant thigh injury.

Initial estimates suggest that Cherki will be sidelined for up to two months.

That means the attacking midfielder could be unavailable for up to 10 fixtures

Expected Return Date – Saturday 1st November vs Bournemouth (h)

Mateo Kovacic

The midfielder underwent surgery on an Achilles injury at the beginning of the summer.

Kovacic was expected to miss the start of the season with his return pencilled in between the first and second international breaks

We should expect to see him back in training in the near future.

Expected Return Date – September/October

Josko Gvardiol, Marcus Bettinelli and Kalvin Phillips

We have not had any updates on the fitness of these three players for quite some time.

Gvardiol has been pictured out on the grass but he has not been deemed ready to make his comeback.

Bettinelli has a knock of some kind, while Phillips has been seeing a specialist about an Achilles problem.
