‘That’s A Relief’ ‘Good News’ Fans React As Guardiola Provides Injury Update On City Ace

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Savinho only suffered a minor knock against Chelsea.

The Brazilian was substituted during the second half of the 2-0 win due to a knee injury, but Guardiola says the player could be back in the squad to face Ipswich Town this weekend:

“Some distributing in the knee. He said he knows perfectly why, had it in the past. He has to solve it and it’s a question of a lack of preparation, a lack of training sessions. Apparently, it’s not a big, big problem. Will be ready for hopefully next Saturday.”

Supporters on X are relieved to hear that Savinho won’t be sidelined for an extended period of time:

City have other injury issues to deal with

Following the serious leg injury suffered by Oscar Bobb in training last week, it would have been a big blow if Savinho was also ruled out. However, it seems the Brazilian won’t miss any games whatsoever.

Guardiola may still want to be cautious about his fitness. You wouldn’t be surprised if he starts on the bench this weekend.

Grealish is also back available

Having missed the Community Shield final against Manchester United, Jack Grealish was back on the bench at Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old did not get on the pitch but he is clearly available for selection.

There have been calls from certain sections of the fanbase to strengthen the frontline but, with Grealish, Savinho and Phil Foden all in contention to play, a new signing before the transfer deadline is unlikely.
