Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be “fit enough to start” against Manchester City this weekend.
The right-back has been missing since picking up a hamstring injury during a 2-0 win over Aston Villa before the international break. However, he was back on the bench against Real Madrid, When discussing the fitness of several players at his pre-match press conference, Slot said:
“[Ibrahima] Konate and [Conor] Bradley [are] still being assessed, so close to last night and I have just come off the training pitch, so we have to wait and see. Trent is fit enough to start, yes.”
City supporters on X are actually more confident about their chances of winning if Alexander-Arnold starts, with many believing that Jeremy Doku’s pace and dribbling ability will cause him a lot of problems:

Will Doku start against Liverpool?
Doku has missed the Cityzens’ two games since the international break against Tottenham and Feyenoord due to a thigh injury but he has been pictured back in training this week.
There is every chance that the Belgian winger will be named in the matchday squad for the trip to Anfield but it would be a surprise if he starts considering how long he has been out for.
Other Manchester City injury news
John Stones suffered a recurrence of a foot injury against Spurs that has been troubling him for several weeks and he is not likely to return on Sunday.
Mateo Kovacic, Oscar Bobb and Rodri are not expected to make their comebacks anytime soon.
