Roy Keane Says Arsenal Now “Know” Something About Man City That Will Leave Them Quaking In Their Boots

Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane says Arsenal will “know” they are in for a serious title fight after Man City demolished Liverpool on Sunday evening.

Speaking after the 3-0 win, Keane said the performance was reminiscent of past City teams and he now expects them to mount a challenge for top spot:

“This reminded me of City of old. Some players have got 60-70 games under their belts, and it looks like it’s coming together. Liverpool had picked up in the last few games, but, coming to City, it’s a different animal and City were outstanding.”

“They are genuine contenders, certainly back in the mix. I think Arsenal will have looked at that and thought: ‘Do you know what? The signs are good for Man City’.”

It was a statement win from Guardiola’s men

There have been doubts about the Cityzens heading into the weekend’s fixture. While results have certainly picked up after a poor start to the campaign, performances have not been perfect.

The 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, for example, demonstrated how reliant they are on Erling Haaland, but the 3-0 victory against the Premier League champions showed there is a lot more to this team. It sent out a statement to the likes of Arsenal that they are not going away.

Who will Man City face over the next 5 league games?

Arsenal’s draw against Sunderland means that the gap at the top of the table is now only 4 points, and Pep Guardiola’s team will be hoping to get even closer over the coming weeks.

City travel to Newcastle straight after the international break, so that is a very tough test. They will then host Leeds United at the Etihad before facing Fulham at Craven Cottage. A game at home to Sunderland and an away trip to Crystal Palace then follow.
