City Starlet Makes Vow As He Scores First Hat Trick For Club After Joining From Chelsea In The Summer

Manchester City winger Ryan McAidoo scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Youth League against Feyenoord on Tuesday evening.

The 16-year-old has already produced some impressive performances in the competition, getting himself assists against both Slovan Bratislava and Sparta Prague back in October. Speaking to Manchester World after getting three goals last night, McAidoo said he just wants to get people off their seats:

“I just came on and wanted to have an impact. I didn’t really have a plan. I just thought ‘let me come on and play’.”

“I don’t think too much about the opponent as I don’t want to stress too much about the game. It’s good to come in with a free mind so I don’t think too much about it. I fully trust myself.”

McAidoo only came as a substitute, playing the last 20 minutes, making the achievement all the more remarkable. City ended up winning the match 6-1.

The teenager has made a very good start to life at City

McAidoo left Chelsea to join the Cityzens back in July and he has mostly played for the Under 18s so far in addition to getting opportunities in the UEFA Youth League.

In 8 Under 18 Premier League appearances this season, the forward has racked up 4 goals and contributed 2 assists.

Despite McAidoo’s young age, City have also given him a runout for the Under 21s against senior opponents. He played the final 15 minutes versus Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy last month. The game was 1-1 at full-time with City winning the penalty shootout.

McAidoo is also making a name for himself at international level

The youngster made his debut for England’s Under 17s back in March and he made a big impression during the last international break.

McAidoo scored in both matches against Belgium in a doubleheader earlier this month. However, he wasn’t on the winning side in either friendly.
