Man City came away with just a draw from the Emirates after looking like they would steal all three points for most of the game.
An outstanding counter-attack led to Erling Haaland putting the away side into the lead early in the first half. However, a stoppage-time equaliser from Arsenal substitute Gabriel Martinelli meant that the spoils were shared.
Read below as we give our Man City player ratings for the 1-1 draw at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Gianluigi Donnarumma – 6/10 – dealt well with Arsenal’s set-pieces, but he will be disappointed with his positioning for Martinelli’s goal.
RB – Abdukodir Khusanov – 7/10 – used his pace to get himself out of trouble on several occasions, but he had to be withdrawn due to a foot injury.
CB – Ruben Dias – 8/10 – not at fault for the goal and dominated Viktor Gyokeres, who did not get a sniff.
CB – Josko Gvardiol – 6/10 – tried to play a high line for Arsenal’s goal – it did not work. He had performed well up until that point, though.
LB – Nico O’Reilly – 7/10 – Madueke did give him a torrid time, although the winger still didn’t create too many chances. O’Reilly actually dealt with Bukayo Saka more comfortably.
