Manchester City are leading the race to sign Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, according to The Independent.
The website claims that talks between the former Chelsea player and his current club over a new contract have reached an impasse.
It has prompted suggestions that City could table a bid for Musiala this summer, and fans on X are very much backing a move for the German international:

Why are City pursuing Musiala?
It’s possible that one or both of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva could leave the Etihad at the end of the season. De Bruyne only has a year left on his current deal and he has been linked with a transfer to Saudi Arabia. Silva, meanwhile, has a £50m release clause in his contract.
At 21 years of age, Musiala would be seen as an ideal long term replacement for either player. He has been in impressive form for Bayern as well, racking up 12 goals and 7 assists in 34 appearances.
There will be competition for the midfielder
The Independent report that Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are the other teams who are likely to pursue Musiala if he becomes available.
However, it is believed that City would have the strongest chance of securing the German’s services due to their financial resources.
