Man City are locked in talks with Palmeiras about signing winger Allan, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Posting on his X account, Romano revealed that “official negotiations have been opened overnight”, with the player having already agreed personal terms.

Allan has a €100m (£86m) release clause in his contract, and while Palmeiras are unlikely to hold out for that much, they are said to be reluctant sellers.

Brazil’s season runs from January to November, so the 22-year-old’s departure would cause serious disruption.

Palmeiras are currently top of the table, but Flamengo are only three points behind them with a game in hand.

Allan came through the ranks of Palmeiras, making his senior debut against Portuguesa in the Paulista State Championship at the beginning of 2025.

He has gone on to make 95 first-team appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists.

While Allan has been deployed in more central areas on the odd occasion, he has started the vast majority of matches on the right wing, cutting in onto his stronger left foot.

Allan has been identified as Savinho’s replacement

It looks like Director of Football Hugo Viana wants to sign another Brazilian to make up for the loss of a winger.

Tottenham have agreed to pay £75m up front for Savinho, with another £10m due in performance-related add-ons.

The forward may not be the only forward leaving for Spurs, with talks ongoing about Omar Marmoush joining him in North London.
