‘Why Would We Want Him?’ ‘Absolutely Zero Need’ City Fans Delighted As £100M Transfer Is Ruled Out

Newcastle have not received any sort of approach from Manchester City for Anthony Gordon, according to Chronicle Live.

There had been reports that the Cityzens were interested in signing the England international but sources have confirmed that the stories are untrue.

Liverpool have been the team most heavily linked with Gordon, whose valuation is said to be as high as £100m. Fans on X believe the Premier League champions don’t need to sign another winger:

Guardiola has plenty of options out wide

With Savio expected to join from Troyes within a matter of days, manager Pep Guardiola will have at least four wingers in his first team squad to choose from.

Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish and Oscar Bobb will be available to the City head coach, along with the highly-anticipated new signing. The likes of Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva can also be deployed there if required.

Are City like to recruit any other players this summer?

The club’s transfer business is going to be dependent on outgoings. For example, if Ederson leaves for Saudi Arabia, there will be a debate over whether to sign a new No.1 or to bring in a backup option for Stefan Ortega.

It will be a similar situation with Kevin De Bruyne. If the Belgian ends up departing the Etihad; will the club splash the cash on a promising youngster like Benfica’s Joao Neves or go with a cheaper, more experienced player like RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo?
