Man City Are ‘Following’ 22 y/o Midfielder Who Is Described As ‘One Of The Best Jewels Of Italian Football’

Man City are on the trail of Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta, according to reports in the Italian media.

TMW claim that the Cityzens are among several clubs that are “following” the 22-year-old’s progress after an impressive start to the season.

Atta only joined Udinese on a permanent basis for €8m from Metz in July, having spent last season on loan at the Serie A club.

This campaign, he has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in 12 appearances in all competitions.

Man City are one of 6 teams keeping tabs on the player

Atta’s performances have attracted the attention of scouts from several elite European sides. La Liga champions Barcelona, Italian champions Napoli, as well as Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all watching him.

There is no indication that City or any other team are lining up a formal offer for the Frenchman, but he is a player to keep an eye on in January and next summer.

What do fans need to know about Atta?

The former France youth international came through the ranks of Metz, and he made his senior debut for their B team against Stade de Reims B in November 2021. He got 2 assists in a 3-1 win.

Atta made his first-team debut just over a year later on Boxing Day. He started a French second-tier game against Chamois Niortais.

Following Metz’s promotion in 2023, he was not a regular starter initially but he had firmly established himself in the first eleven by the end of the 2023/24 season. It was enough to gain the notice of Udinese.

Over the past 18 months, Atta has continued to develop his game, playing in a variety of positions – holding midfielder, no.8, no.10, right winger and right wingback. TMW now describe him as “one of the best jewels of Italian football” due to his form this campaign.
