‘Not Good Enough’ ‘Please God No!!!! He Can’t Defend’ Man City Fans React To Romano Transfer Update

Manchester City have “added” Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie to their shortlist of transfer targets, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist says that new Director of Football Hugo Viana has been tracking the Italian international since his days at Udinese, and while it will be difficult to get him out of Spurs, he is among the options to strengthen at fullback.

It’s fair to say that the club’s interest in Udogie has not gone down well with supporters on X:

Why is Udogie being targeted as a replacement for Walker?

Considering that the 22-year-old has played most of his football on the left flank for Spurs, some fans are rightly asking why he has been tipped to succeed Kyle Walker.

However, Romano says Udogie has the ability to play on either wing, although that is up for debate considering he is left-footed.

Cambiaso could be tempted to join City

While Udogie is an option, a move for him may only be pursued if the Cityzens fail to land another Italian. Juventus’s Andrea Cambiaso was a target during the January transfer window and there is a possibility that a deal could be revived.

He is two-footed, making him suitable for either fullback position, and Juve have already set an asking price of around €65m (£56m). Romano says the player is “open” to making the switch to the Etihad so it is definitely a transfer to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.
