Manchester City may let Ederson leave for only €15m (£13m) before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
The Brazilian international has less than a year left on his contract and it will be the last chance for the club to get a substantial fee for the goalkeeper.
TEAMtalk claim that Galatasaray have already made one bid for Ederson but the Turkish champions are hopeful of signing him for an even lower price.
That is because the 31-year-old has reportedly made it known that he would be interested in making the move. There are even suggestions that the shot-stopper is willing to take a pay cut.
These claims contradict Ederson’s own comments
It’s probably wise to take this report with a very large pinch of salt. Speaking at the Club World Cup last month, the Brazilian made it clear he would not leave the Etihad Stadium this summer:
“My future is here. Some friends send me lots of news, but 99 per cent is fake news. I understand you guys, you need the news, to put a ‘like’ on social media but there’s a lot of fake news around my name.”
“My head is here. It stays with City. It means everything to go back to the Premier League and to try to win the Champions League as well. My mind is staying in the club.”
Man City have been linked with potential replacements
Despite Ederson’s remarks, reports over the past week have mentioned that the Cityzens are looking at signing a keeper.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (who also has less than a year left on his contract) has been suggested as a potential candidate in the French press, while the Spanish media say that Pep Guardiola’s side are keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
In other news, a defender has “successfully passed” his medical ahead of his move to Man City
