Galatasaray have “offered” a lucrative contract to Man City goalkeeper Ederson, according to reports.
TBRFootball claim that the Brazilian international has agreed personal terms with the Turkish Super Lig champions and it is believed that he could earn a “similar” amount to their newest signing Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international is thought to be earning around £250,000 a week, and if Ederson receives that salary, he would more than double what he is currently getting at the Etihad Stadium.
The 31-year-old is said to take home around £100,000 a week on his current deal, which is set to expire at the end of the season.
Man City are expected to keep hold of the keeper
Despite reports linking him with Galatasaray, other sources have suggested that Ederson will be directly competing with new signing James Trafford for a starting place.
The club officially announced the return of Trafford earlier this week. The 22-year-old was snapped up from Burnley for £27m, with the Cityzens having matched an offer from Premier League rivals Newcastle.
Ortega will be allowed to leave
It is felt that Stefan Ortega is more likely to be offloaded before the transfer window closes on September 1st than Ederson. He has not committed to staying with City, having stated in June that he was keeping his options open about a move.
The German is reportedly keen to be a regular starter, and the arrival of Trafford means that he has been relegated to third choice.
Of course, if Ederson were to seal a switch to Turkey, Ortega may end up staying anyway, but from the looks of things, his three-year stay in Manchester is expected to come to an end.
