Manchester City are willing to meet Florian Wirtz’s €150m (£128m) asking price, according to reports in Germany.
Bild claim that manager Pep Guardiola has already spoken to the Bayer Leverkusen player about how he would fit into his starting eleven, and it is believed that the transfer fee and the German’s €25m a year (£412,000 a week) salary demands won’t be a problem.
City supporters on X are excited about the prospect of Wirtz making the move to the Etihad but they have questioned the costs involved:

Wirtz has not made a final decision on his future
Whilt it seems as if the Cityzens have done all they can to persuade the 21-year-old into moving to England, Bild report that the player has yet to signal which team he wants to join.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential destinations in the past, but it is felt that if Wirtz moves to the Premier League, he will join City.
The main competition is expected to come from Real Madrid (who the midfielder sees as the club where he would have the best chance of winning the Champions League) and Bayern Munich (the team his father is pushing him towards).
City are considering other replacements for De Bruyne
Wirtz is by no means the only midfielder that the Premier League champions are keeping an eye on as they seek to replace Kevin De Bruyne.
Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White is known to be on City’s radar. Some have even tipped the club to revive their interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
