The representatives of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma have “approached” Manchester City and Chelsea about a transfer this summer, according to reports.
TBRFootball claim that the Italian international’s agents are looking for possible suitors if PSG opt to offload him.
Donnarumma starred as the Ligue One side lifted their first Champions League crown last month but he has less than a year left on his contract.
PSG are said to be reluctant to let him leave on a free transfer so a sale before the transfer window closes is a genuine possibility.
Man City have already identified their new number one
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that the Cityzens are prioritising a move for Burnley shot-stopper James Trafford.
There had been reports in Portugal that Pep Guardiola’s side were lining up a bid for Porto’s Diogo Costa but Romano believes the club is focused on recruiting Trafford. There is a buyback clause worth £40m in the 22-year-old’s contract, although City are hoping to get him for less than that.
It remains to be seen whether Donnarumma’s availability would affect the club’s plans to purchase Trafford.
What is the situation with Ederson?
There have been conflicting reports on the Brazilian’s future. Like Donnarumma, there is less than 12 months on his contract, but he told reporters last month that he isn’t interested in leaving the Etihad Stadium.
However, there is growing speculation that Galatasaray will make a move for Ederson, with personal terms reportedly already agreed.
City’s interest in Trafford does suggest that there is some grain of truth to reports that Ederson will leave before the end of the summer. At the moment, though, there is no guarantee that he will join Galatasaray.
