Manchester City are “closely” monitoring Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, according to reports.
ESPN claim that the Spaniard is being considered as a potential replacement for Ederson, along with Porto’s Diogo Costa.
Garcia was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal last year, while Manchester United have been mentioned as another potential destination in recent weeks, and City fans on X feel he would be a good signing:
Finally.. something to smile about🥳

Garcia’s release clause makes him an attractive target
ESPN has confirmed that the 23-year-old can leave Espanyol if a club pays his €25m (£21m) buyout fee, which is a very reasonable sum by today’s standards.
The fact that Garcia is also among the best-performing keepers in La Liga means he won’t be short of suitors, so the Cityzens may have to move quickly if they want to install him as their new No.1.
Will Ederson leave City this summer?
There is a good chance that Saudi Pro League teams will revive their interest in City’s current first-choice keeper over the coming weeks.
Ederson was close to leaving for the Middle East before the start of the season but a transfer collapsed after clubs failed to meet the keeper’s asking price.
The interest in Garcia and Costa suggests that Pep Guardiola’s side are expecting the Brazilian international to move on to pastures new.
