‘Would Be An Amazing Signing’ ‘Yes, Please Bring Him’ Fans Excited As City Plot Move For £43M Rated Midfielder

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich remains a transfer target for Manchester City, according to The Athletic.

The website claims that the Premier League champions are looking at bringing in midfield reinforcements and the German international is “still” a “key name” being considered.

Fans on X are excited about the prospect of Kimmich joining City this summer:

What are the chances of Kimmich leaving Bayern?

The 29-year-old only has a year left on his contract and, speaking last week, Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau confirmed that the player has not been offered an extension:

“So far, Bayern have not communicated a clear indication to Kimmich that they want to extend his contract. [Sporting director] Max Eberl has not clearly told Kimmich, ‘we want to extend with you after the Euros.’ That’s why the player has somewhat been left hanging.”

“In case of a move, Kimmich would only join an absolute, ambitious top club. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal would be options for him. But at the moment, there are no talks with any other club. Bayern is still Kimmich’s first point of contact.”

How much would City have to pay for the player?

A €50m (£43m) price tag has been mentioned in recent months but that figure is likely to be lowered if his future at Bayern remains uncertain.

Kimmich can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs as soon as January so Bayern will be forced into offloading him this summer unless they begin talks about a new deal soon.
