REPORT: City Have ‘Talked’ To £83M Rated Serie A Star’s Agents As They Enter Transfer Battle With PL Rivals

Manchester City have “talked” with the representatives of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to TBRFootball.

The Georgian international is currently unsettled at the Serie A league leaders, with negotiations over a new deal having reached an impasse.

Kvaratskhelia’s agents even pressed for a switch to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer before Napoli blocked the deal so there is a good chance he would be open to a move to the Etihad.

TBRFootball report that the Premier League champions have asked his camp to be kept informed about his situation leading into future transfer windows.

Kvaratskhelia has plenty of suitors

It is believed that Liverpool are genuinely considering the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Mo Salah. With the Egyptian’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Reds are exploring their options.

Kvaratskhelia does usually play on the left wing, cutting in onto his right foot, so it is up for debate whether he would be able to fill Salah’s shoes.

City would have other clubs to contend with too. PSG remain interested, while both Real Madrid and Barcelona could also enter the fray.

The City target’s asking price is pretty steep

Reports in the Italian media suggest that Napoli would demand at least €100m (£83m) if they were to sell Kvaratskhelia. That is not a price that would necessarily put off the Cityzens but it could narrow down which teams he could potentially join.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the Georgian but that fee could be outside their price range. It may scare off the likes of Barcelona and potentially even Liverpool as well.

Kvaratskhelia is the type of winger manager Pep Guardiola likes. He is direct but, unlike Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish, he does have more of an end product. He has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 14 league appearances so far this campaign.
