‘Not A Bad Fee’ ‘We’ll Take It’ Fans React As Purchase Clause Figure For City Loanee Is Revealed

AC Milan have an option to buy Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker for €5m (£4.2m), according to reports in Italy.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that the Rossoneri are happy with the 34-year-old’s performances during his loan spell at the San Siro and they are likely to trigger their purchase clause at the end of the season.

Fans on X are mostly happy about the fee that City will get for Walker, although a few believe the figure is too low:

Why did Walker decide to leave City?

Speaking in an interview last month, the defender said that he needed to leave the Etihad Stadium for a new challenge.

Walker had spent seven and a half years with the club, having won every major honour and, with the fullback nearing the end of his career, he feels that will enjoy his last few years more at another team.

Replacements for the former club captain are being lined up

The Premier League champions seriously contemplated making a move for Juventus’s Andrea Cambiaso in January.

However, the cost of signing the Italian is substantial, with his asking price said to be around €70m (£59m). The club may still revive their interest but they are also considering potential alternatives, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
