Man City have sealed the signature of Sunderland striker Liam Ogunsuyi.
While the move has not been officially announced, the 14-year-old has already made an appearance for his new team, and it was against his former club.
Ogunsuyi scored twice in a 5-1 victory over the Black Cats earlier this week, emphasising why the Cityzens were so keen to bring him in.
Sunderland Echo claim that his former team are still due compensation from the transfer due to his age, so that will be sorted out in due course.
What do Man City fans need to know about the player?
Liam is the younger brother of Trey Ogunsuyi, who is also a striker and plays for Sunderland’s Under 21s.
Ogunsuyi is described as “highly rated” and “one of the brightest prospects” in the Black Cats’ academy by the Sunderland Echo. That is backed up by the fact that he won the academy’s Player of the Season in 2024/25.
The forward went on to become Sunderland’s youngest-ever player to play for the Under-18s at 13 years of age. He featured in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle back in March.

Ogunsuyi is one of several additions to the academy
City have been on a youth recruitment drive over the past few months. In addition to Ogunsuyi, Mishel Ndika has arrived from Arsenal. The young midfielder took to Instagram to share a photo of himself signing his contract.
Other youngsters, including Jeremy Monga and Pierce Charles, have also been snapped. Unlike Ogunsuyi and Ndika, who have been integrated into City’s academy setup, both Monga and Charles were loaned out to Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers, respectively, to ensure they get sufficient experience at senior level.
