‘Please Be True’ ‘I Need This To Happen’ Fans React As City Discuss Move For £51M Liverpool Target

Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has been “discussed” as a potential transfer target for Manchester City, according to The Real Tolmie’s Hairdoo.

The insider source claims that the Spanish international, who has recently turned down a move to Liverpool, is being considered as an alternative to Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes.

While some fans on X are sceptical that Zubimendi would be interested, many believe he would be an excellent addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad:

Zubimendi has a release clause

One of the reasons why City would favour a move for the Real Sociedad star ahead of someone like Guimaraes is because of the price.

While Newcastle are expected to demand in excess of £100m for their player, Zubimendi has a buyout fee in his contract which stands at €60m (£51m).

City will have a difficult time persuading the midfielder to move clubs

It is believed that Liverpool are not the only team that have tried and failed to sign Zubimendi over the past twelve months. Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have reportedly made similar attempts.

The player is said to be very happy in San Sebastian so the Cityzens would have to make a considerable effort in order to change his mind.
