‘This Will Be Tough’ ‘Just Get The Deal Done’ Fans Frustrated As City Refuse To Meet Target’s £67M Valuation

Manchester City are hoping to pay no more than £50m for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush despite the fact that the Bundesliga side are demanding a much higher fee, according to reports.

The Premier League champions are keen to sign the Egyptian international but The Times report that Frankfurt are reluctant to let the player go for less than €80m (£67m) this month.

Supporters on X are worried that City won’t stump up the requisite cash to buy Marmoush and many are calling on the club to push the boat out:

Frankfurt were hoping to keep Marmoush until the summer

Initial reports in the German media suggested that the 25-year-old would be sold for between €50m (£42m) and €60m (£50m).

However, those figures related to the move taking place at the end of the season rather than in January. Frankfurt have placed a premium on teams wanting to sign the player now.

City are the only club in formal talks

Other Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Marmoush but, so far, the Cityzens are the club that have made all the running in negotiations.

That could help them in terms of lowering the price. Frankfurt may be hoping for a bidding war but, at the moment, no other teams are involved.
