‘No More Wingers Please’ ‘Where Will He Play?’ Fans React As Report Claims City Are “Interested” In £60M Portuguese Ace

Manchester City remain “interested” in signing Wolves winger Pedro Neto, according to The Telegraph.

With Julian Alvarez expected to join Atletico Madrid, as long as personal terms are agreed, the Premier League champions are likely to be in the market for a replacement.

However, supporters on X don’t believe that the Cityzens should be considering a move for Neto under any circumstances:

Why are City fans not in favour of signing Neto?

One of the big reasons that a move for the Portuguese international is not seen as a good idea is due to his injury record. He has had two serious injuries during his five seasons at Wolves.

Last campaign, Neto also spent two lengthy spells on the sidelines with hamstring injuries and, with Wolves demanding around £60m for his signature, City would be taking a big gamble if they do snap him up.

Guardiola already has plenty of wingers at his disposal

Another factor which should be mentioned is that Neto would not be directly replacing Alvarez. He is very much a wide man rather than a centre-forward.

Considering manager Pep Guardiola has the likes of Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish, Savinho and Oscar Bobb who play on the flanks, there really isn’t any need to bring in a fifth winger.
