Man City are expected to make a move for a right-back during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail reporter Jack Gaughan.
Many fans were hoping that the club would sign a replacement for Kyle Walker in the summer, but a new addition did not arrive.
Some on X feel that recruiting a new fullback for the right-hand side is well overdue, while others say they will believe it when they see it:
It's absolutely necessary. Khsanov is also a center back, so if he gets injured, we'll have Nunes or Lewis.

I hope not Nahuel Molina.

Khusanov has been great, but if he gets injured they have nobody for that spot. Nunes can’t be playing in big games— he just isn’t good enough.

I'm biased as hell, but Nahuel Molina would be my choice.

Who would be the primary target for City?
Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is known to be high up the club’s list, but the main issue will be his asking price.
The Magpies have so far refused to discuss selling the 22-year-old, and there have been reports that they are trying to tie down the defender to a new contract.
With that being the case, it could take a considerable sum to tempt them into parting ways with Livramento.
Are there alternatives to Livramento?
The Cityzens did make an attempt to buy Barcelona’s Jules Kounde in the summer but the enquiry was knocked back, and the Frenchman has subsequently put pen to paper on a contract extension.
As some supporters have mentioned, Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina has been suggested as a potential target over the past week, but he will turn 28 before the end of the season, so he wouldn’t be one for the future. Links to other right-backs have been thin on the ground.
