Juventus have made contact with Man City about a potential loan deal for midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, according to reports in Italy.

La Stampa (via TMW) claim that the Serie A side have pivoted away from recruiting Francmk Kessie on a free transfer, and they are now hoping to snap up the Man City star instead.

Reijnders only made the switch to the Etihad last summer in a deal worth £46.5m, but he found himself on the substitutes bench in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.

The departure of Pep Guardiola and Enzo Maresca’s arrival should have given the Dutchman the chance for a fresh start, but there are other factors at play.

Man City are in talks to sign Bouaddi

Director of Football Hugo Viana is said to be trying to get a deal over the line for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The Moroccan international could cost upwards of €100m (£86m), and The Sun believe that his arrival in Manchester could lead to Reijnders’ departure.

The fact that the 28-year-old’s future is in doubt would have encouraged Juve to make an enquiry about his availability.

Reijnders is not the only midfielder who could depart

There are also question marks over the futures of Rodri, Mateo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez, with City seemingly deciding that a major revamp of the midfield is required.

Speaking in a recent press conference, Maresca was asked about stories linking Rodri with Real Madrid.

The Italian played down the chances of an imminent departure, stating that it is just “speculation at the moment.” The Cityzens have reportedly set an asking price of around €75m (£64m) for the Spanish international.
