Man City have decided against reviving their move for Newcastle right-back Tino Livramento, leaving the way clear for Arsenal to make a bid for the defender, according to reports.

The Telegraph claim that sources at the Etihad have played down rumours that the England international remains a top target for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal, though, are still keen and they could table an offer for Livramento, who is valued at around Β£60m, this summer. Fans on X are happy for the Gunners to take the player due to his poor injury record:

Man City have not talked to the player’s agent for 8 months

Speaking on his YouTube channel earlier this week, journalist Fabrizio Romano said that the Cityzens last spoke to Livramento’s representatives in July.

That information backs up The Telegraph‘s claim that there has been no recent interest in Livramento. It does appear as if Pep Guardiola’s side have moved on to other targets. Get a Guardiola themed birthday card from Thortful here.

Livramento has struggled to stay fit

The 23-year-old has garnered a reputation for being injury prone over the past couple of years. This season alone, he has missed 27 matches due to knee and hamstring problems.

Spending Β£60m+ on a player who sits on the sidelines for lengthy spells does not make a lot of sense.
