‘He Would Be My First Pick’ ‘Would Cost A Fortune’ City Fans Discuss Swoop For Potential Kyle Walker Replacement

Manchester City supporters have been discussing long-term replacements for captain Kyle Walker.

The fullback’s contract expires at the end of next season but he will be 35 in May and many believe next summer is the time to sign a long-term successor.

Some fans on X put forward Newcastle’s Tino Livramento’s name as a potential option, although not everyone is convinced that he should be the top target:

Livramento would cost a lot of money

It should be pointed out that Newcastle had to pay Southampton ยฃ40m for the former Chelsea academy graduate last year so he wouldn’t exactly be available on the cheap.

The Magpies do have PSR considerations but, even then, you would expect them to demand as much as double for Livramento.

Who are the other right-backs that City could pursue?

Some have suggested former City player Pedro Porro but Tottenham would also demand an excessive amount for the Spanish international.

Chelsea captain Reece James has been mentioned as a possible target in the past but his woeful injury record and his lack of interest in moving away from Stamford Bridge would make that a non-starter.

City may instead consider someone like Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who was looked at during the last transfer window.
