Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji has withdrawn from Switzerland’s squad due to an adductor injury.
The Switzerland international was a substitute for the defeat to Brighton but manager Pep Guardiola had confirmed in the build-up to the game that the centre-back felt “so bad” that he could barely move.
Expected Return Date – Saturday 23rd November v Tottenham (h)
Jeremy Doku will also not join up with the Belgium squad due to a thigh strain. The winger has pulled a quadricep muscle.
Unlike Akanji, he was not in the squad at the Amex and Guardiola has said that the player’s injury means he is unable to run at full speed.
