Manchester City Star Set To Sign New Lucrative Five Year Contract With The Club

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has verbally agreed to sign a new contract with the Premier League champions, according to the BBC.

The 23-year-old’s current deal expires in 2020 and the Citizens have been keen to tie down the midfielder for the long term.

Sterling’s new contract will reportedly run until 2024, and he is set to earn a staggering £300,000 a week. If the reports are accurate, it would make him the highest paid British player in world football.

The wide man has been in good form so far this campaign with four goals and four assists in 12 appearances.

However, he has a fair way to go before he matches his exploits of last season, where he scored 23 times in all competitions and contributed 17 assists.

Sterling is certainly riding a crest of a wave at the moment. The midfielder broke his three-year goalscoring drought for England last month, scoring two vital goals in the widely praised 3-2 win over Spain.
