Manchester City are reportedly keen on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who according to new reports, is willing to make a move to the Etihad this summer.
Camavinga is one of the most valuable centre-midfielders in world football, but despite this, he has been getting less and less game time at Real Madrid this season.
The Frenchman plays as a centre-midfielder, and at the age of 22, remains one of the most exciting young midfielders in the game. However, despite that, he has made just 14 La Liga appearances for Real this season, sparking rumours of a summer exit.
Manchester City have previously been linked to Camavinga, as they look to add a midfielder who can help to replace the ageing group of Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan.
According to Football Insider, Camavinga is willing to move to City this summer, due to growing concerns about his minutes under Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.
He is valued at around £58 million, but it is likely that Madrid would demand a much higher transfer fee as they will see City as a threat to them winning Champions League titles in the upcoming seasons. However, Guardiola is not afraid to spend money, and Camavinga would certainly provide the City boss with a talent in midfield.
He’s made 27 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the defensive midfield role, when he is used.
City have opportunity to land Camavinga before the transfer window
If City did want to sign Camavinga this summer, they could do so before the official transfer window opens and before the Club World Cup starts in June.
This is because there is now going to be a smaller first transfer window between June 1 and June 10 due to the fact that clubs are wanting to do business before the Club World Cup, which is set to begin on June 15, with the final taking place a month later in July.
It means that if midfielder Rodri is not ready to return to the City team in full capacity by then, they could sign Camavinga from Real Madrid in order to have him ready for the competition in June, something that could be considered by the higher-ups at City.
