‘Not a chance in hell we would pay that’ – City Fans Scoff At Reported Target’s £110m Valuation

Manchester City are interested in signing Ruben Neves but Wolves are demanding in the region of £110m for the player, according to reports in the UK.

The Portuguese international was signed for just £16m from Porto in 2017, but the midfielder’s performances since his arrival in England have attracted the attention of a number of Champions League teams.

Fans on Twitter don’t believe that City would shell out that much on one player:

While the Manchester club did break their transfer record to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City in the summer for £60m, it seems they would have to almost double that amount to secure a deal for Neves.

Manager Pep Guardiola is certainly looking for another central midfielder. The club came close to securing a deal for Jorginho before he opted to make the switch to Chelsea instead.

However, would Neves represent value for money? There are a number of young midfielders around Europe that could be signed for a lot less.
