Manchester City fullback Oleksandr Zinchenko has been handed a new five-year contract by the club.
The Ukrainian international became first choice left-back following Benjamin Mendy’s injury problems and played consistently well throughout the campaign.
Fans on Twitter have been congratulating Zinchenko on his new deal:
He's a perfect example of how hard work pays off. Pep wanted to loan him out and he refused because he knew he had what it took to play here and here he is signing a long term contract. Congrats @Azinchenko17

The 22-year-old has had to work very hard to get his chance at City. The club accepted a bid from Wolves last summer for the Ukrainian but the player decided to stay.
Zinchenko has been rewarded for the hard work he has put in on the training ground as well as on the pitch. After a breakthrough season, he will be hoping to continue his good form and maintain his performance levels at left-back.
Remarkably, Zinchenko has won every match he has started for City in the Premier League, 22 in total so far, and supporters will be hoping that winning streak continues into next season.
