Manchester City are interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi, according to reports in Germany.
The 22-year-old has two years left on his contract at the Bundesliga club and City are reportedly considering making a €35m (£31m) offer for him.
Fans on Twitter think Elvedi could be a better alternative to Leicester defender Harry Maguire, but some admit they’ve never heard of him:
Prefer him over maguire

The Swiss international made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga last season with Gladbach having the fourth best defensive record in the league.
Elvedi would certainly prove a cheaper alternative to Maguire, with Leicester reportedly demanding in the region of £90m for the England international.
He is capable of playing right across the back four and is good on the ball so would fit into manager Pep Guardiola’s system.
Elvedi almost exclusively played as a centre-back last season but played as a right and left-back the previous campaign.
