REPORT: City Star Set For Summer Exit With Arsenal And Three Other Clubs Vying For His Signature

Joao Cancelo playing for Bayern Munich during his loan spell from Manchester City

Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo has likely played his last game for the club, according to 90min.com.

The Portuguese international was loaned out to Bayern Munich in January and, while the Bundesliga side do have the option to sign the player on a permanent basis for €70m (£61m), they have already intimated that they won’t trigger the purchase clause.

A return to the Etihad had led to suggestions that Cancelo could be reintegrated into the first-team setup but it appears that City will try to sell him this summer.

In terms of potential suitors, Arsenal are said to be in the mix, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly a fan of the 28-year-old. Real Madrid also could be an option as they seek a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with Cancelo in the Spanish press but they would want to sign the defender on an initial loan deal, while there is a chance that Bayern may come back in for the player if City make him available for a lower amount.
