REPORT: City Weigh Up £51.6m Swoop For Real Madrid Playmaker

Manchester City are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to reports in Spain.

The German was not happy after being substituted by manager Santiago Solari in the 2-1 victory over Levante at the weekend.

It is said that Kroos’s dismay at being replaced midway through the second half on Sunday is symptomatic of the player’s current situation at the Bernabeu.

The playmaker is reportedly keen to depart Real at the end of the season after five years in Spain, with the player believed to be open to reuniting with former boss Pep Guardiola.

The City manager worked with Kroos at Bayern Munich for one season before the German left for Madrid in a €30m deal back in July 2014.

Reports indicate that the 29-year-old would cost €60m (£51.6m) to be prised away from Real. The midfielder has made 31 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, scoring one goal and contributing four assists.
