Chelsea are not interested in signing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero on a free transfer this summer, according to German journalist Christian Falk.
The reporter, who works for German tabloid BILD, says claims in the English press that the Blues are after the Argentine are wide of the mark. Thomas Tuchel’s side are believed to be focused on signing Erling Haaland instead:
Not True ❌ are the reports that @ChelseaFC wants @aguerosergiokun. Chelsea‘s number one Target is still @ErlingHaaland pic.twitter.com/ripxkjObOg

Supporters on Twitter are delighted by the transfer update, and while many didn’t believe the reports anyway, they are glad that Aguero won’t be moving to a Premier League rival:

There are still big question marks over Aguero’s future, though. The Citizens have yet to offer the striker a new contract and he is already free to talk to other clubs.
Barcelona are thought to be the 32-year-old’s likeliest destination if he leaves the Etihad Stadium, but every fan will be hoping he is handed a new deal by the club soon.
