The Top Five Managers With The Highest Win Ratios Of The Premier League Era

The Premier League isn’t an easy league to ply your trade in as a manager. The competitiveness among the 20 clubs is higher than in any other top European competition purely due to the financial resources available.

So, to stand out and win consistently in England’s top tier, you have to be an excellent coach and today we are looking at the managers with the highest win ratio in the Premier League era.

We have gone for any manager who has taken charge of more than 50 Premier League games and surprisingly neither Arsene Wenger nor Jose Mourinho managed to make the top five on our list.

Press the next page as we look at the coaches who have the highest win percentages in Premier League history.

5) Roberto Mancini (62%)

The Italian only won one Premier League title at Manchester City but it was the all-important first one. The dramatic final day win against QPR in 2012 will go down in Premier League folklore.

It is also worth remembering Mancini was managing City when a certain Scottish manager was still in charge of their rivals…

Joint 3) Sir Alex Ferguson (65%)

Manchester United’s legendary manager is undoubtedly the best coach of the Premier League era but, in terms of win percentage, his longevity kind of plays against him.

There were certainly some years where his United teams weren’t as successful, which inevitably means his ratio takes a bit of a hit. Even so, winning almost two-thirds of your 810 league games in charge is quite astonishing.

Joint 3) Jurgen Klopp (65%)

The Liverpool team that the German has built over the past three seasons has become a winning machine. Last campaign, the Reds won an incredible 20 of their first 21 league games.

In the 2018/19 campaign, they lost one match all season but still managed to come up short in their pursuit of the Premier League title. Klopp, though, rallied his troops to lift the trophy a year later.

2) Antonio Conte (67%)

The former Chelsea manager is surprisingly high up on this list but, it is important to note, that he was only in charge at Stamford Bridge for two seasons.

Even so, winning the Premier League in your first season at the club was some achievement. He bagged 30 wins in the 2016/17 campaign, although his team did falter badly in his second season leading to his eventual sacking.

1) Pep Guardiola (73%)

The current City boss is way ahead of the pack in regards to win percentage showing what a truly exceptional manager he is. The Spaniard has won 116 of his 158 league games in charge of the Citizens.

In his four seasons so far, Guardiola has won the title twice and he may yet make it three if City manage to recapture their high standards this campaign.
