The Top Five Premier League Clubs With The Most Major Trophies

Following City’s triumph over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final last weekend, we thought it is a good time to check where the Citizens rank in the all-time list.

Manager Pep Guardiola has really begun to amass a large trophy collection, which could yet expand even further by the end of the season.

When we look at the overall picture, though, City do still have a fair way to go before they can catch up with some other English teams.

Press the next page as we list the five Premier League clubs who have won the most major trophies.

5) Manchester City – 21 Major Trophies

The Citizens added to their trophy haul by lifting their eighth League Cup last week. They will soon add a seventh Premier League title to their list.

Over the years, City have also won six FA Cups, but their only European trophy (the Cup Winners’ Cup) came all the way back in 1970. They will be hoping to put that right very soon.

4) Chelsea – 24 Major Trophies

A large proportion of the Blues’ trophy haul has been achieved over the past two decades under the ownership of Roman Abramovich. They currently have six league titles, eight FA Cups and five League Cups.

In Europe, they have won the Champions League once (so far), the UEFA Cup/Europa League on two occasions, as well as the Cup Winners Cup.

3) Arsenal – 31 Major Trophies

Although the Gunners have not won a title in 17 years, they have 13 League Championships to their name, going all the way back to 1931.

The club have, though, been more successful in the FA Cup in recent years, bagging four of their 14 trophies over the previous seven seasons. They have also won the League Cup twice, the Inter Fair’s Cup once, as well as the European Cup Winners Cup.

2) Manchester United – 42 Major Trophies

The Red Devils are the most successful club in the history of the domestic game, with 20 league titles in total. They have also secured 12 FA Cups and 5 League Cups.

On the European stage, United have lifted 3 European Cups; two of which came under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. They have also won a Cup Winners Cup and a solitary Europa League title, which they could add to this year.

1) Liverpool – 43 Major Trophies

While United may rule the roost domestically, overall their Merseyside rivals just edge them out of top spot, mainly due to the Reds’ success in Europe.

Liverpool have six European Cups and three UEFA Cups, whilst they have also lifted 19 League titles, seven FA Cups and eight League Cups.
