Paul Jewell’s assistant succeeded him as manager at two separate clubs, at Bradford in 2000 and at Wigan in 2007. Neither spell was successful.
During his time as manager at Valley Parade, he won just one of his 21 games in charge before being sacked. Hutchings didn’t do too much better at the Latics either, lasting just six months before being sacked in November 2007 after six consecutive defeats.
